As predominantly an agri-based municipality, about 14,251.8 hectares are devoted for agricultural production. Coconut is the main flagship commodity of the municipality which occupies around 61% of the total agricultural area. Corn is the second leading commodity contributing 9% of the total agricultural area. Rice occupies only 7.9% of the total agricultural area of the municipality. As of 2013, around 280 hectares are prime irrigated areas. Rainfed areas account for the biggest land area of 849 hectares compared to the areas with irrigation (Figure 16).
In 2013, corn production registers 3,450 metric tons. Coconut and rice in the same year has produced 2,368 and 4,870 metric tons respectively.
